Demi Moore recently admitted that she predicted her Oscar loss to Mikey Madison moments before the Best Actress category was presented.
The Substance star was considered to be one of the frontrunners to win Best Actress at the 97th Academy Awards. However, her Oscar bid fell short, with the Anora star prevailing.
Demi Moore Reflects on Her Oscar Loss to Mikey Madison
In a recent interview with Time Magazine, where she was hailed as one of the 100 Most Influential People of 2025, Moore reflected on her recent Oscar run and her loss to Madison.
She revealed that she did not feel gutted by the loss as she knew that Madison would win Best Actress, moments before the category was announced.
"I leaned over and whispered to my manager, ‘I think it’s going to Mikey,’" The Substance star said.
"I don’t know why I knew, but I did. I was so centered and calm. I didn’t feel gutted. I didn’t feel any of those kinds of things. I just trusted, and am in trust of, whatever is going to unfold."
While she accepted her loss, Moore also admitted that winning the award would have been meaningful for her. However, her loss has also motivated her to move forward as she embarks on a new chapter of her career.
"The physical, human part that has ego, of course, has disappointment. It certainly would have been wonderful to have won," she said.
"That's the beautiful thing when you really open up to how the universe really works, as opposed to gripping so tight, trying to force things to happen. You really move with the flow."
