The Substance star was considered to be the heavy favorite to win Best Actress at the Oscars in the days leading up to the ceremony. However, Madison ended up prevailing for her performance in the Best Picture winner Anora.
Demi Moore Reacts to Oscar Loss, Congratulates Mikey Madison
In her recent post on Instagram, Moore reflected on her awards season journey as a Best Actress contender for The Substance.
She gave a shoutout to the cast and crew of the film and acknowledged her fellow nominees. She concluded her caption by congratulating Madison and expressing excitement about her future endeavors.
"As this awards season comes to a close, I’m so overwhelmed with gratitude for this journey. It’s been the ride of a lifetime and we’re just getting started! So grateful for my team, my fellow nominees, and everyone who has made this experience so full of joy and light," the Oscar nominee wrote.
"Thank you to the cast, crew, and fans of @trythesubstance — @isimostar and @coralie_fargeat it’s been such an honor to work alongside you, learn from you, and celebrate this film with you. And a huge congratulations to #MikeyMadison — can’t wait to see what you do next."
Moore's daughters also posted their reaction to their mother's Oscar loss on social media by expressing their full support and showing that they're still proud of her despite not taking home the trophy.
Fernanda Torres Pleads to Fans to 'Send Love to Madison'
I'm Still Here star Fernanda Torres, who was also nominated for Best Actress alongside Moore and Madison, also weighed in on her Oscars loss and addressed the fans who are disappointed about the results.
The veteran Brazilian actress pleads to her fans to "send love" to Madison and calls her an "amazing" performer.
"Brazil is very passionate and all, but I wanted to ask that you only send love to Madison. Send only love because that woman is amazing. That’s all I wanted to ask," the Oscar nominee said in a press conference.
The Best Actress race was seen as a race between Moore, Madison, and Torres as they all had won at least one award in the precursors. Madison ended up winning as part of Anora's sweep in the ceremony.
