Bianca Censori, the wife of rapper Kanye West, will not face legal action for her bold sheer dress at the 2025 Grammy Awards, despite speculation that she could be charged with “indecent exposure.”
The 30-year-old Yeezy architect turned heads with her nearly nude appearance at the prestigious event, wearing a transparent mesh minidress without any undergarments.
Although her outfit sparked intense scrutiny from critics and fans, it did not meet California's legal criteria for indecent exposure.
Bianca Censori Won’t Be Punished
Despite showing up nearly nude at the Grammys, Bianca won’t face any punishment for her risqué fashion choice, as no formal complaints were filed about her outfit.
Sources close to the event organizers told TMZ that AEG officials and the Recording Academy had security on site when Bianca and Kanye arrived.
So, though they caused a stir with her outfit, no one filed any complaints.
The LAPD also confirmed to the outlet that the Grammys was a private event, and no one contacted the police regarding Bianca’s attire.
Although Kanye had informed the organizers that they planned to walk the red carpet before the event, sources revealed they were still caught off guard by Bianca’s see-through ensemble, as they had no idea what she would be wearing.
Legal Analysis of Bianca Censori’s Outfit at the 2025 Grammys
California Penal Code 314(1) defines indecent exposure as “a person exposing his or her naked body or genitals in front of anyone who could be annoyed or offended by it.”
However, neither of these conditions were met in Bianca’s 2025 Grammys outfit
“While Ms. Censori’s outfit undoubtedly pushed the envelope, a charge of indecent exposure in California requires willful public exposure of one’s genitals with the specific intent to offend or sexually arouse,” LA-based lawyer Andrea Oguntula told Page Six. “It’s theoretically possible, but unlikely she’ll face any criminal prosecution for this incident.”
If this had been the case, legal expert Oguntula explained, the decision would have been up to the district attorney’s office.
Public and Family Reactions to Bianca Censori’s Controversial Ensemble
Bianca stunned the crowd when she dramatically shed her black fur coat, revealing a sheer mesh dress that left her appearing completely nude—without anything underneath—after walking the red carpet alongside Kanye.
As expected, she instantly became the talk of the town, dominating social media as users reacted to her controversial ensemble.
X user Princess CarParkle called out Bianca, saying her outfit is “giving exploitation, trafficking.”
Dan Brocklebank remarked that Bianca’s outfit was no longer shocking, considering her past fashion choices. However, he bluntly described it as “skanky.”
Nonetheless, Bianca found an ally in her sister, Angelina Censori, who defended her look on her Instagram Story, calling it “art” and praising its “cool, eclectic” style.
“[Bianca] has the best wardrobe,” she said. “Some people call it ugly or eclectic; it’s not for everyone, but I think it's cool.”
While Bianca may have avoided legal consequences, her outfit has sparked debates about fashion, societal norms, and decorum at prestigious events. So far, the Recording Academy has not commented on the controversy.
