Nicole Kidman shared recently that she is planning to take an acting break this year after being extremely busy with multiple projects for the past few years.
The Oscar winner has been working in several films and TV shows for the last couple of years to an unprecedented level that we've seen in an A-lister. Some fans have been wondering whether she would consider taking a break soon.
Nicole Kidman Plans to Take an Acting Break
While attending the premiere of her new film Holland at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival recently, Kidman revealed in an interview that she is planning to take an acting break.
After a jam-packed schedule last year, she shared that this year will be "not as crazy."
"I was much more out there last year; this year I have Holland, I have Nine Perfect Strangers, and then I’m off for the rest of year. So, oh well!" the Oscar winner said with a laugh.
Kidman had a busy 2024 as she starred in three TV shows (Expats, The Perfect Couple, Lioness season 2) and three films (A Family Affair, Babygirl, Spellbound). She was also filming projects around that time which are slated to release this year.
"I do, but in this weird way there are so many opportunities in terms of being able to be of service to the people who are coming up, and using what I have and can do for people like [Babygirl writer and director] Helena [Reijn]," she explained her decision to star in multiple projects in an interview last year.
"It’s very hard for me to go, ‘Okay, I’m just going to take care of myself,’ because I’m so much about taking care of other people. I’m thinking, ‘I can create more work for people. I can create jobs for people.’ And also, I love it. I have the passion. I’ve just got to take care of my body. I wish I had superpowers because I would love to be everywhere."
Nicole Kidman's Upcoming Projects
Kidman will be seen next in the upcoming Prime Video mystery thriller film Holland. She co-stars alongside Gael Garcia Bernal and Matthew Macfadyen.
In this wildly unpredictable thriller, Kidman is the meticulous Nancy Vandergroot, a teacher and homemaker whose picture-perfect life with her community pillar husband (Macfadyen) and son (Hill) in tulip-filled Holland, Michigan tumbles into a twisted tale. Nancy and her friendly colleague (Garcia Bernal) become suspicious of a secret, only to discover nothing in their lives is what it seems.
On the TV side, Kidman will be reprising the role of Masha Dmitrichenko in Nine Perfect Strangers season 2.
Production took place last year in Europe. The Oscar winner is joined by new cast members such as Murray Bartlett, Annie Murphy, Christine Baranski, Dolly de Leon, Henry Golding, Mark Strong, Lena Olin, and many more.
