Last month, a promo for The New Mutantshas surfaced online, said to have aired in Australia, with the clip claiming that the film would make its way to Disney+ on September 4. Disney was quick to dismiss this teaser though, saying that it was only fan-made. However, the promo featured never-before-seen footage, which the House of Mouse didn't address.
Now, those clips showed up in international promo for New Mutants. MCU Cosmic tracked down the footage and sourced it to a TV spot in Taiwan. You can check it out below!
The promo also holds firm to the August release date, but it is unclear when the teaser aired. So it's possible that the spot was release before the fake trailer was shared, with the fan getting ahold of the footage. However, if the promo was just recently released, how the fan got access to the never-before-seen clips raises some eyebrows.
Initially set to debut in 2018, Josh Boone's New Mutants has had quite a long journey before landing its current release date of later this month. Facing multiple delays got fans wondering whether Disney would just release the film straight to its streaming platform, but it looks like the House of Mouse is sticking to its theater debut on August 28.
