Super Groupies has revealed a new set of accessories in collaboration with Wizards of the Coast's Magic: The Gathering. The Japanese company is producing watches and crossbody bags based on the popular trading card game. There will be 6 colors available, and both the watches and bags specially desghned to fit the needs of MTG players.
The hour markers are blue, black, red, green, and white stones to reprsent Magic's 5 colors mana, and the bezels are turnable in order to easily count 50-minute intervals (the typical duration of a match round). Each watch bezel can be easily adjusted before the start of a Magic game. One color is based on a Planeswalker, and the other five colors each represent the 5 mana of Magic: blue, black, red, green, and white.
The case back features the Planeswalker symbol.
The fashionable bags have water-proof zippers and Cordura syon to help protect valuables. The main compartment of the bag is originally partitioned to let a player store decks, but the partitions can be modified. The bags' side pockets are perfect to store smaller items like dice and pens.
The bags' lining design features a blend of Planeswalker and mana symbols.
Each watch costs 23,800 yen ($225 USD), and each bag costs 13,800 ($130.65). All prices are subject to tax.
Super Groupies' Magic: The Gathering watches and bags are set to release around late February 2021, and they will only be available through build-to-order manufacturing. Preorders are now available until October 26, 2020, at 12:00 JST. Customers outside of Japan can preorder through the WorldShopping service in Super Groupies' product site.
