Squid Game caused an uproar on Netflix when its first season was released on the streaming platform back in late 2021. The epic dystopian TV series ended on a cliffhanger with a promise of a continuation to the story. Well, wait no further as show star Lee Jung-Jae recently teased that Squid Game Season 2 will soon begin their filming for their return!
“As we all saw at the end of [Squid Game] Season 1, the main plot of Season 2 will be revenge, and the key figure who controlled the working of the games in Season 1 was Lee Byung Hun sunbae, so it seems that the two of us will be the central figures of this next story.” Lee Jung-Jae said (via allkpop), “This is the first time that I’ll be working with Lee Byung Hun sunbae, actually.”

Little is known in what Squid Game Season 2 holds in store, however, speculations do point to where Lee Jung Jae directed his audience: focusing on the theme of revenge of Seong Gi-Hun. Another thing is the high possibility of featuring a new set of characters, seeing as Squid Game Season 1 characters have already lost their chance in the game.
Now, amidst the teaser on what Season 2 holds for the fans, Lee Jung-Jae adds: “Anyways, Squid Game 2 will begin filming in the summer and the filming will likely last for about 10 months, as well, but that was with delays caused by COVID-19.
