The hit Netflix teen romantic-comedy series XO, Kitty has been renewed for season 3, continuing Kitty Song-Covey's adventure in Seoul.
Since the release of the second season last month, fans have been waiting for news on the To All the Boys spinoff series' renewal for another season, especially with the cliffhanger ending on Kitty and Minho's relationship.
XO, Kitty Renewed for Season 3 at Netflix
Fortunately for fans, last Valentine's Day, Netflix officially confirmed that XO, Kitty has been renewed for season 3.
They also posted a video of star Anna Cathcart receiving the script for the first episode of season 3 as a Valentine's Day gift for her.
"I’m so excited to head back to Seoul for another season with our incredible cast and crew. If you thought junior year at KISS brought the drama, just wait," XO, Kitty showrunner and executive producer Jessica O’Toole told Tudum in the renewal announcement.
"I know we left fans on a cliffhanger at the end of Season 2, but I can promise Season 3 will be worth the wait, including our first summer episode — not to mention plenty of romance, friendship, adventure... and kissing. Lots of kissing."
The renewal did not come as a surprise as season 2 managed to get great viewership numbers when it premiered last month. It debuted at No. 2 on the English TV List with 14.2 million views and appeared in the Top 10 in 89 countries in its first week.
What to Expect in XO, Kitty Season 3
So far, most of the plot details regarding XO, Kitty season 3 are still being kept under wraps.
However, as teased by O'Toole, fans can expect an episode that is set during the summer and it won't only specifically focus on the third semester.
"I would love to see Kitty continuing to explore who she is and figure out what that means to her. She’s constantly dealing with this struggle between being herself and following her crazy heart without causing drama and too much chaos. She’s definitely still in the process of figuring that out," Cathcart said about what she would love to see in season 3 in an interview.
"Following her journey of being a messy, loving person is what makes the show so exciting, to see someone who I think we can all relate to that experience in some sense of not knowing what to do with your big heart. I think if she just continues to follow it. I hope she never lets go of that trait because it’s something I really love about her."
For now, fans should wait for more news and updates regarding XO, Kitty season 3 in the coming months as the development continues.
