It looks like Neil deGrasse Tyson is an avid fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the popular astrophysicist has a perfectly scientific reason explaining his choice of banner.

While the debate between Marvel and DC fans about whether the DC Extended Universe is better than the MCU continues, pop science figure Neil deGrasse Tyson reveals his decision to side with Marvel, saying that he'd rather opt for a banner where heroes start as scientists or where they get their powers from science concepts.

Posting on Twitter, the astrophysicist decided to open up about his preference for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"As a scientist, I lean Avengers universe, if only because many of their superheroes started as scientists, or derive their powers from authentically fictional (rather than fantastically magical) science concepts," Tyson explained in his post.

Of course, this isn't the first time that the scientist has sided with Marvel. In interviews with other entertainment news sites like ComicBook.com, Tyson has been candid about preferring Marvel over DC. The astrophysicist loves that Marvel's heroes become heroes because of a scientific occurrence. In his discussion with the media, Tyson makes examples of Spider-Man who's bitten by a radioactive spider in a biology lab and Bruce Banner who becomes the Hulk after being exposed to gamma rays.

"Everybody's got a science-based story behind their superpowers, and that creates a fertile landscape that you can go back to if you need to. Plus, Banner was a medical doctor, for goodness' sake. So, this has value," Tyson said in a previous interview.

Of course, to each his own. Marvel fans love Marvel for their own reasons. DC fans love DC for their own reasons too.
