Natalie Portman recently revealed that she is open to making her return to the Star Wars franchise under one specific condition.
The Oscar-winning actress notably played Padme Amidala in the prequel trilogy. However, she hasn't made more appearances in the franchise since then as the character met her tragic demise at the end of Revenge of the Sith.
Throughout the years, fans are still hoping that Portman will make her comeback in the Star Wars franchise similar to her prequel trilogy co-stars Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor.
Natalie Portman is Open to Star Wars Return on One Condition
During her recent appearance on The View, Portman was asked whether she is open to returning to the Star Wars franchise.
She revealed that she is "absolutely" open as long as she gets to work again with Moses Ingram, who played Reva/Third Sister in Obi-Wan Kenobi. They are currently co-stars in the new Apple TV+ series Lady in the Lake.
"Absolutely, especially, Moses Ingram, my brilliant co-star is in Obi-Wan, so if I got to work with her, I'd do anything with her," she said.
It is encouraging to hear again that Portman is open to returning to Star Wars and her remark has been consistent over the years since she has also said in the past that she is interested in making her comeback.
However, if she does return, it is very unlikely that she will be able to share scenes with Ingram since Reva is in a different timeline than Padme, who has passed away by the time that she becomes the Third Sister.
There are also no more stories to tell with Padme since her journey ended in Revenge of the Sith unlike with Anakin, who can still make appearances in future timelines through Force Ghost.
Despite the story issues in her potential return, it is still great to hear that Portman is interested in appearing in Star Wars again. Let's wait and see whether it comes to fruition at some point in the future.
