More than half of the Magic: The Gathering cards from the Core Set 2020 have been revealed, and this weekend, the Mythic Championship III at Las Vegas revealed a new Planeswalker card and now, Wizards of the Coast has revealed two more cards from the upcoming set: "Gargos, Vicious Warden" and "Cavalier of Squall". Here are the two new cards:
Gargos, Vicious Warden
This card is great with pump spells as every spell you play that targets it can potentially kill a creature. If there's a viable hydra tribal deck, this is definitely a must-have.
Cavalier of Squall
Flying
When Cavalier of Squall enters the battlefield, you draw three cards, then put two card from your hand to the top of your library.
When Cavalier of Squall dies, shuffle it into your library, then Scry 2
"Cavalier of Squall" looks like a decent card in Limited format. A 5/5 Flying body that draws you cards can help you win games. The "Brainstorm' effect and a 5/5 Flying body make it one of the strongest in the new set's Cavalier cycle but its 5-mana cost makes it mediocre in competitive Standard. It would be much better if this card has Flash but this Mythic Rare probably won't fetch more than $5.
Core Set 2020 is set to be released on July 12, 2019. Core Set 2020 is also coming to Magic Arena, with preorders for the set opening in the game later this week on June 13. The Core Set 2020 bundle in Arena includes a mythic rare Planeswalker card for Chandra as a bonus. Pre-release events will be held from July 5 to July 7.
