Some Magic: The Gathering cards with alternate artwork cost more than their original versions and one alter was just sold for $1,025 on an eBay auction.

After 48 bids had 48 bids on eBay and the item was sold for $1,025. The eBay description says: "The card is hand painted using acrylic paints and sealed with a protective acrylic spray."
Thanks to talented artists, players can acquire cards with fantastic alternate artwork you won't find booster packs and your typical game store. As far as I know, this special Ulamog is the most expensive Magic: The Gathering alter we've seen on eBay yet.
Pre-release events for Ravnica Allegiance will take place on January 19, 2019; the set will officially be released on January 25.
