If there's anything The Boys on Prime is known for, it's the endless gore-ish lovefest in between the fight sequences. This article ranks the 11 most brutal The Boys scenes fans are never getting over from the series.
As The Boys season 4 is fast approaching this week, recount some of the most shockingly brutal scenes across the first three seasons on Prime Video.
CONTENT SPOILERS: This article contains spoilers forĀ Prime Video'sĀ The BoysĀ season 4, proceed with caution.
The Boys' First Kill of the Inaugural Season
Hughie initially joined Billy Butcher and Frenchie's team without thinking of becoming a murderer.
He merely wanted justice for what Vought and its heroes did to his girlfriend, Robin, when they were innocently having a moment on the sidewalk.
However, with Translucent breaking loose from his cage and Hughie with the remote of the bomb stuck up the invisible hero's rectum, what's a guy to do? Had he let Translucent back into Vought, Homelander would still be tracking down their team, anyway. It was time for a change of scenery for Hughie.
Stormfront Gets Burnt to a Crisp
As much as Becca and Ryan could've had the life they've always wanted with Butcher, the existence of Homelander and Stormfront hindered them from their dreams.
Witnessing the fight between his two mothers, Ryan didn't know what to do. All he wanted was to save Becca, and yet he ends up burning the Supe to a crisp, while accidentally slashing Becca's throat in the process.
Termite Did It Wrong in the Bedroom
What was once a harmless sexcapade between two Supes turned into yet another rotten bloody scene in the bedroom.
Termite's biggest mistake was taking drugs before shrinking himself into his partner's prostate. With a single sneeze, he grew right back to his normal size, tearing his partner apart from the inside out.
The Whale Scene is Much More Horrifying Than You Thought
Remember when Billy Butcher and the Boys drove the boat through the whale The Deep was riding in the ocean?
If fans were impressed with how realistic the set was of Hughie wanting to stay in the belly of the beast, wait 'til you hear how biologically accurate Lucy the Whale's organs were behind the scenes.
"We had a whole show-and-tell on whale guts 'cause they made all these guts, too, for the inside," VFX supervisor Stephan Fleet said, "They did all their research. It's like we're sampling food for a restaurant. 'This is a whale spleen!'"
Popclaw Took 'F*ck Your Brains Out' Too Literally
Another one of those sexcapades gone wrong was first made by Popclaw in the first season. When she was trying to prove her self-worth by seducing her landlord, she ended up pulling a risky move on the floor of her bedroom.
While using her landlord's face to ride her pleasure, Popclaw unknowingly kills him when she reaches her climax, thanks to the intact effects of Compound V to her system.
Homelander's 'Star-Spangled Banger'
Honestly, any scene that involves Kimiko using her powers would be a top-tier on this list, but this one takes the cake.
In The Glorious Five Year Plan episode in The Boys season 3, Kimiko goes undercover to take down the Oligarch.
While she is supposed to be a part of a bedroom scene, she doesn't waste time and uses Homelander's 'Star-Spangled Banger' sex toy to kebab through the Oligarch's mouth, which came in handy for the rest of his crew in the room.
Octopus is Friend, Not Food
The most shocking scenes do not always have to have bloodshed to call them 'brutal.' In fact, this one particular scene in The Boys may have served the platter far too much in The Deep's special dish.
In an attempt to welcome The Deep back into The Seven, Homelander prepared a meal in his honor ā exquisite seafood cuisine with Ashley, the leader of Vought's most merciless leader, and his own wife.
Not only did Deep have to watch his companions eat his sea friends to their hearts' content, but he also had to consume his octopus friend, Timothy, while he was still alive. Keep in mind he knew that Timothy was begging for his life for the sake of his kids at the time.
Apparently, it wasn't only Deep who was traumatized in that episode. Even the actor Chace Crawford.
Behind the scenes, the octopus was made out of mochi, and when Deep bit down to cause black ink to come out, it was made out of maple syrup mixed with dye. Let's just say Crawford had lost his appetite for pancakes at the time.
Homelander Lasers the Crowd
As Homelander tries to convince the crowd that he's innocent, that he wasn't a terrorist for killing off innocent people while saving their village, he ends up using his laser beams to kill the crowd.
Then he snaps back and settles in reality that he couldn't do that. Not with all the cameras around him, when he needed to gain their love and trust back.
Head-Popping Fest
It's the Red Wedding from Game of Thrones all over again with The Boys' season 2 episode 7.
Just when Butcher and the others thought they had finally caught Homelander red-handed in the Hearing Room, the case on live TV went on a head-popping spree with no one being able to tell the culprit behind the crime scene.
As it turns out, it had been Victoria Neuman all along.
Soldier Boy Intervenes Herogasm
At the '70th annual Herogasm' episode, Soldier Boy hunts down its hosts, the TNT Twins, to confront them about what happened when the Russians took him in.
Unfortunately, as they fail to explain and use their powers to eradicate Soldier Boy, he blasts everything and kills everyone in the mansion.
Of course, that's not where the episode ends, either, as the burnt-down house was transformed into Homelander vs. Soldier Boy vs. Butcher's battle stadium.
Eventually, A-Train also got his own revenge by dragging the racist Blue Hawk across the street on full-speed, which also led to the former Supe to get a heart attack.
The One that Started It All
Nothing beats the root cause of what made The Boys series possible.
Hughie and his girlfriend, Robin, had been innocent citizens hanging by the sidewalk to talk about their future. All of a sudden, Robin disappears mid-air, with her guts and blood scattered, and splashed across Hughie's face.
If A-Train had not consumed Compound V and intentionally apologized to mourn Robin's death, Hughie would not have had the urge to get revenge against Vought and its Supes.
