Meghan Markle is getting herself more involved in politics. However, doing so put her husband, Prince Harry, in the backseat with a royal expert calling him a househusband.
Meghan Markle Is Reportedly Making Prince Harry A Househusband With Political Career
The Duchess of Sussex has been open about her political views and has been using her platform to lobby politicians. She even called Senators Shelley Moore Capito and Susan Collins for parental leave and climate policy. She also voiced her opinion after the court overturned Roe v. Wade and the constitutional right to abortion.
"As we've found out Meghan Markle says that she definitely will be going to Washington to support the causes that are close to her heart," royal expert Neil Sean said, Express reported. "While she said previously that she doesn't demand or require a political career, it seems more and more that Meghan shines in the spotlight moving forward in a totally different avenue."
He added, "Prince Harry, the real royal, seems to be stepping back and becoming something of a househusband."
Royal commentator Hilary Fordwich slammed the duchess for involving herself in politics while using her royal title.
"Prince Harry obviously can't control his wife because he knows very well you can't be a renegade royal over here in the US because you're breaking centuries of the royals staying out of politics," she said. "Not just American politics, all politics."
Access Hollywood expected Markle to make more political moves. According to its report, Prince Harry's wife wants to be a part of a working group about paid leave. It remains unknown whether it will happen sooner or later, but "she'll be part of a group of women that hopefully will work on paid leave together."
Meghan Markle Wearing The Trousers In Her And Prince Harry's Marriage
Several sources spoke about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's marriage. According to them, Meghan Markle is taking the lead when it comes to her marriage to the royal prince.
"She is definitely the one wearing the trousers in their relationship," a royal insider told People after they tied the knot. "She is a strong, opinionated woman who has her own ideas about things, and that’s one of the things he loves about her."
Prince Harry has no issues with his wife taking charge. When they visited an urban radio station, Reprezent in Brixton, south London, they spoke with dozens of DJs. During the chat, some of the DJs asked about gender equality, and he turned to Markle, who was still his fiancee at the time.
"She answers the questions!" Prince Harry jokingly said per Closer Weekly. "As males, we have to do our part or it’s not going to work."
Markle quipped, "Yes, talking of gender equality!"
