Marvel fans have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the X-Men and the Fantastic Four ever since word came out that Disney finally completed its acquisition of 21st Century Fox and the studio's film and television assets.
Marvel, on the other hand, has been keeping mum about its plans for Fox's mutant heroes the past few months, but now, in an interview with Variety, Marvel President Kevin Feige decides to briefly address the plans that the studio has for the Fantastic Four.
Though Feige doesn't really confirm whether or not a Fantastic Four movie is being made at Marvel, the producer did express his excitement over seeing the heroes make their way into the MCU.
"All of that is spoilers, but I'm extremely excited about those characters and about bringing Marvel's first family up sort of to the platform and the level that they deserve," Feige told the publication.
The statement seems to also give out some shade at Fox's Fantastic Four film franchise. Marvel's first family already appeared on the big screen in two different iterations. The first iteration had Ioan Gruffud as Mister Fantastic and Chris Evans as the Human Torn. The franchise was then rebooted in 2015 with a younger cast that includes Black Panther Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, and Miles Teller.
Right now we're not quite sure when and how Marvel will bring the Fantastic Four into the MCU, but we're hoping that we get a great cast for the first family.
Phase 4 of the MCU begins when Black Widow premieres May 1, 2020.
