Disney and Marvel Entertainment are returning this 2024 for the biggest and highly anticipated fan extravaganza, D23: Expo. Here are some of the major Marvel-centered events fans should expect at D23 2024 on exclusive looks at the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, animation, and new Disneyland attractions.

Friday, August 9 — Disney Entertainment Showcase

Taking place from 7:00 PM PT to 9:00 PM PT in Anaheim, California, Marvel will be joining the new announcements for Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios and Star Wars.

Apart from short teasers shown at the SDCC 2024, we'll likely be getting our sneak peeks at Agatha All Along, Daredevil: Born Again, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and perhaps Avengers: Doomsday, since Robert Downey Jr. was confirmed to return as the Doctor Doom variant of Iron Man.

The second MCU panel on Friday is set at 11:00 AM PT running until noon PT, MCU composers and songwriters will tackle behind-the-scenes the music behind the major comic book franchise.

These music executives will include WandaVision and Agatha All Along's Kristen Anderson Lopez and Robert Lopez, as well as Michael Giacchino's The Fantastic Four: First Steps and his directorial debut of Werewolf by Night.

Saturday, August 10 — Marvel Animation & Disney Experiences Showcase

From the geniuses behind Marvel Animation such as X-Men '97 and the 2-season What If...? series, the Sneak Peek panel will consist of other animated projects such as Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Eyes of Wakanda.

Since X-Men '97 has recently been revived and joined the MCU officially (as Deadpool and Wolverine pulled the strings), the panel showcase could discuss any future projects such as what to expect in season 2 and how What If...? season 3 will come to be from 12:45 PM PT until 1:45 PM PT.

In relation to the X-Men acquisition under the franchise, Marvel Comics is celebrating 50 years of Wolverine from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM PT with potential teasers for his future in the pages and how his storyline aligned with the events of the Deadpool threequel.

Of course, let's not forget the Disney Experiences showcase, where news and updates on the latest attractions and upcoming projects on Disneyland's Avengers Campus will inevitably be revealed by the panel (hopefully, including the seemingly long-forgotten Marvel Multiverse roller coaster).

Sunday, August 11 — The Long Journey of Creating Marvel Studios

The first panel to expect on Sunday runs from 10 AM PT to 11 AM PT, where the panel, Designing the MCU: Marvel Studios' Visual Development, will dive deep into the early stages of how Marvel movies come to life behind the scenes.

This will likely include 3D models of Marvel characters and villains, concept photos and art, as well as the 'what-could-have-been' sets on the theatrical screens.

Not only will this discuss the future of the animated series streaming on Disney+, but include the upcoming spin-off video game for Marvel Studios' and ILM Immersive's Apple Vision pro collab.
