Mahershala Ali recently confirmed that he has officially moved on from playing Blade in the MCU.

In the last several years, Marvel Studios has been attempting to make a new Blade movie, with the Oscar-winning actor attached to play the vampire hunter. However, the project ended up being canceled. Some fans are still wondering whether Ali would still play the character in another project, or if he is done for good with the role.

In a recent interview with Deadline, Mahershala Ali was asked whether he is still attached to play Blade in the MCU, or if he is done with the iconic character.

He confirmed he is no longer set to play the vampire hunter in the MCU moving forward, and he has moved on.

"I'm done. I'm doing this and anything moving forward," the Oscar winner said. "I'm over that. I'm done with that."

However, Ali also acknowledged that the years he spent training for Blade helped him in his preparation for his new film, Your Mother Your Mother You Mother.

"Oh, absolutely. For a year, yeah. A little more than a year. I'm actually really grateful. They helped pay for our movie, so thank you. I got to go train for a year, so at this point, I'm so grateful that they made a wonderful contribution to our film," he said.

With the cancellation of Blade, Marvel Studios has not indicated any plans to revive the project or recast the role with another actor.
