Faeries, one of the most beloved tribal creatures in Magic: The Gathering, will return in the upcoming set Throne of Eldraine but don't expect Wizards of the Coast to design them the same way they've done in previous Faerie-centric Magic sets.
When a fan asked Magic lead designer Mark Rosewater how different faeries are in Throne of Eldraine compared to the ones in previous sets like Lorwyn, Shadowmoor, and Dominaria, Rosewater said that their color mix won't be the same compared to those sets.
"The color mix is a little different than previous Faerie-centric sets," Rosewater wrote on his Blogatog.
It looks like R&D team at Wizards of the Coast are experimenting with different changes in Throne of Eldraine, and it's not just the faeries that are going to be a little different. Earlier this week, Rosewater also revealed that white in Eldraine will do something "it's never done before". He later clarified that the change is not a big thing and that the "focus on new space is whether or not the audience accepts it and we like how it plays. If it's successful, we'll have opportunity to put it on more cards."
So how do you think fairies will be different in
Throne of Eldraine
? Are we going to see red and white faeries in the upcoming set? Talk about it in the comments section below.
