Magic: The Gathering artist Ryan Pancoast has revealed his new art for the upcoming set Theros Beyond Death. The incredible illustration features Magic's iconic Planeswalker symbol in between a formation of swords of shields, and if you take a closer look, you'd notice the Aegis with the different races/monsters of the Greek mythology-inspired plane.

The artist noted that the nyx-shadow detail over reflective surfaces was tricky to make.
The details look amazing, and I hope I can get a playmat featuring this art someday.
It's nice to see this trend of incorporating the planeswalker symbol in the new world on a piece of key art.

Theros Beyond Death, the 83rd Magic: The Gathering expansion, is set to release on January 24, 2020. Prerelease events will take place on January 17-19.
