There are fans who are speculating that Johnson might be playing Julia Carpenter, who took both the title of Spider-Woman and Madame Web in the comics. Prior to this, most fans are assuming that Johnson is playing Cassandra Webb, the original Madame Web. However, so far, Sony has not made any confirmation yet about the specific details of Johnson's role.

While it's only for a few seconds, it is still great to see our first look at Johnson in the role as it gives us a clue on the exact role that she is playing. Just like any other Marvel project, the makers behind the film have been secretive about the plot details and the roles that the ensemble is playing. We should be hearing more updates and details about the film soon.

The film is described as an "origin story of the clairvoyant, whose psychic abilities allow her to see within the spider world." Besides Johnson, it also stars Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O'Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Emma Roberts, Mike Epps, and Adam Scott. S.J. Clarkson is directing the film while Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless wrote the screenplay.
