Anime fans have another reason to celebrate, as Lycoris Recoil is getting six new anime short films featuring beloved characters such as Chisato and Takina.
The fan-favorite Lycoris Recoil duo is set to return, and the excitement couldn’t be contained!
Lycoris Recoil Gets Six New Anime Short Films
Aside from the new anime project previously announced for Lycoris Recoil, the series is also getting six new anime short films, as revealed at a second-anniversary screening at Sumida Aquarium.
The new anime shorts will center on the daily lives of characters such as Chisato and Takina, giving fans a chance to peek into their ordinary days.
The official X (formerly Twitter) account of Lycoris Recoil shares a screencap showing Chisato holding what looks like a bottle of sake by the window, as shown below:
For clarification, these anime shorts are unrelated to the previously announced anime project for Lycoris Recoil, which is speculated to be a second season.
Lycoris Recoil Staff Revealed for New Short Films
The six new short films for the Lycoris Recoil anime series feature different individuals in charge of directing and storyboarding.
Shingo Adachi (Galilei Donna, Ryusei no Rockman Tribe) supervises the project, while character designer Imigimuru (This Art Club Has a Problem) handles the script.
There’s no word on the staff members of the short films yet, but details are likely to be announced at a later date.
It’s possible that the upcoming shorts could feature some of the previous staff from the first season of the series, such as Atsushi Otsuki (Engage Kiss), Takashi Sakuma (My Dress-Up Darling), Takahiro Miura (Negima!? Summer OVA), and more, so stay tuned for further updates.
Lycoris Recoil Short Anime Films Release Date Predictions
The exact release date for the six anime short films is not yet confirmed, but it’s likely to be announced in the coming days.
It typically takes a year for a new anime to be released, but since this project consists of short films, the wait is expected to be shorter.
The short films might arrive before the release date of the newly announced Lycoris Recoil anime project, possibly to hype up viewers and keep them invested in the series.
They may use these shorts to promote the upcoming anime project, which is a common practice in the industry.
For now, fans will have to wait for further updates leading up to the premiere of the new anime shorts!
