Lucasfilm recently revealed that they are working on two prequel novels featuring the fan-favorite characters from The Acolyte.

Some of the main characters in the High Republic-set series have become beloved by many fans despite meeting their demise early in the first season.

Fans have been wondering whether we will see more content featuring the demised fan-favorite characters in the series and explore their backstories and origins before what we've seen in the first season. Fortunately, that will finally happen.

During their recent San Diego Comic-Con panel, Lucasfilm announced that they are working on two prequel novels featuring the characters from The Acolyte.

Justina Ireland is penning an adult novel titled Star Wars: The Acolyte: Wayseeker that will explore Vernestra Rwoh's life around 20 years before the events of the series. Jedi Master Indara will also be a major part of the story.

Meanwhile, Yord Fandar and Jecki Lon will be resurrected in a young-adult prequel novel that also takes place in the years leading up to the series. It is slated for release in July 2025.

Kelnacca is also getting his spotlight as he will be featured in new issues of Marvel's The High Republic comics that will be released in February 2025. Cavan Scott is also working on a one-shot comic featuring the Wookie.

This is exciting news for fans of the series who have been looking forward to seeing more content with the fan-favorite characters and spending time with them beyond what was told in the series.

It's also a good add-on material that we can look forward to as we're waiting for news on the renewal, which may look likely now since Lucasfilm is still committed to telling more stories from the series as evidenced by these announcements.
