Pierce Brosnan has expressed interest in playing an elder version of James Bond in Denis Villeneuve's upcoming movie.
Amazon MGM Studios is currently working on a new James Bond movie that will introduce a new iteration of the iconic British spy. So far, no casting has been made yet on the coveted role, but Villeneuve is already attached to serve as the director of the highly anticipated next installment. Fans are eager to find out which actor will take the mantle of the character.
Why Is Pierce Brosnan Open to Playing an Elder Version of James Bond?

In an interview with Radio Times, Brosnan shared that he is considering the idea of potentially playing an elder version of James Bond in Villeneuve's upcoming movie if an opportunity arises.
"I don’t think anyone wants to see a craggy, 72-year-old Bond, but if Villeneuve had something up his sleeve, I would look at it in a heartbeat," he said.
"Why not? It’s great entertainment. It could be lots of laughs. Bald caps, prosthetics… who knows?"
Brosnan also added that he and his wife have been looking forward to seeing which actor will play the next James Bond, just like the fans.
"I have been listening to the drumbeat of expectation of who’s going to be the next James Bond. There are many great candidates out there, and I’m sure they’re going to make it a spectacle of delight," he said.
What Fans Should Expect from Bond 26
Earlier this year, Amazon MGM Studios officially took over the creative control of the James Bond franchise from Eon Productions.
Amy Pascal and David Heyman have been hired to serve as producers of the next 007 movie, while Villeneuve has been tapped to direct the installment and also serve as an executive producer.
Since Villeneuve is still busy with Dune: Part Three, it might take a while before fans hear more news and updates regarding the progress of James Bond's highly anticipated return.
However, a recent report revealed that Scott Rose-Marsh has screen-tested for the role, but it is unknown yet whether he is included as one of the main finalists.
