Lee Min Ho Lands Lead Role In Romantic Comedy K-Drama Ask the Stars After Pachinko’s Success

Lee Min Ho might have a full-packed schedule this year.

Lee Min Ho has maintained his position in South Korea’s top-paid actors despite his years of hiatus in the industry. The Boys Over Flowers star was seen on the TV screens for the last time through the SBS-broadcast and Netflix-distributed hit drama series, The King: Eternal Monarch.

Following its release in 2020, it became one of the most anticipated series and the most successful K-drama by Lee Min Ho following his discharge from the military.

He already made a comeback this year when his AppleTV+ series, Pachinko, debuted this month. But his surprises are not over yet.

Lee Min Ho To Star In New 2022 K-Drama, Ask the Stars

On Wednesday – days after Pachinko arrived – Korean news outlets confirmed that Lee Min Ho would spearhead the new romantic comedy K-drama, Ask the Stars.

The 34-year-old actor will reportedly play Gong Ryong, an obstetrician-gynecologist who goes to the space station as a tourist. His character’s female counterpart will be played by Gong Hyo Jin. She will be starring as a Korean-American astronaut. Eve Kim.

The two individuals will then fall in love at the space station, and the romantic comedy plotline will start from there.

It’s Okay to Not Be Okay and Lovestruck in the City director Park Shin Woo will lead the K-drama. Writer Seo Sook Hyang, Don’t Dare to Dream) Jealousy Incarnate and Pasta writer, will work alongside the director.

Ask the Stars is expected to be released in 2023. For now, fans can enjoy watching Lee Min Ho in his newest and comeback drama, Pachinko.

Lee Min Ho Immediately Receives Positive Feedback For His Pachinko Role

As expected, Lee Min Ho did not disappoint at all when he made his return as he earned critics’ approval for his titular role.

Before the release of Pachinko, the series held a conference where the actor shared about his expectations in the drama.

''I’m proud that we got such good reviews from critics. But now we have the most important feedback of all, the reaction of the public. I think that good reviews mean that we’re acknowledged as a good production,'' he added, ''It has nothing to do with becoming a hit, but it gives me a sense of pride,” he said, as quoted by Republic World.

He also expressed his desire that people would find Pachinko as the drama that could move their hearts instantly.
