Jamie Lee Curtis recently admitted that she is planning on "self-retiring" from the Hollywood spotlight after seeing the trajectory of her parents.
The Oscar-winning actress has experienced a career resurgence for the last few years thanks to her acclaimed roles in Everything Everywhere All at Once and The Bear. She also reprised her iconic role as Laurie Strode in the new Halloween trilogy and will reprise another iconic role from the past in the upcoming sequel Freakier Friday.
Why is Jamie Lee Curtis Planning on "Self-Retiring" from Hollywood?

In a recent interview with The Guardian, Curtis shared that she has been planning on "self-retiring" from Hollywood to avoid the same fate as her parents, Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis.
"I witnessed my parents lose the very thing that gave them their fame and their life and their livelihood, when the industry rejected them at a certain age. I watched them reach incredible success and then have it slowly erode to where it was gone. And that’s very painful," she said.
The Oscar winner added, "I have been self-retiring for 30 years. I have been prepping to get out, so that I don’t have to suffer the same as my family did. I want to leave the party before I’m no longer invited."
However, with Curtis being booked and busy again for the last few years, it appears that she has no permanent retirement in sight anytime soon, but rather, she is ready to leave show business if she's not getting any jobs anymore.
What Are Jamie Lee Curtis' Upcoming Projects?
As mentioned, fans will see Curtis again on the big screen very soon as she reprises the role of Tess Coleman in the upcoming sequel Freakier Friday, where she also serves as producer.
She recently got nominated for an Emmy again for her recurring role as Donna Berzatto in The Bear. She made appearances in the fourth season and will likely appear in more episodes since the series has been renewed for a fifth season.
Curtis stars in the upcoming film Ella McCay, the upcoming Prime Video series Scapetta, and serves as producer in the upcoming movie The Lost Bus.
While she has been "self-retiring" from show business, Curtis remains busy at the moment, and fans should still expect to see her projects in the next few years.
