DC Studios has reportedly found their top choice for the role of John Stewart in the highly-anticipated series Lanterns.
For the past few weeks, we've been hearing casting reports on DCU's Green Lantern Corps series as fans are eager to find out which actors will DC Studios hire to play the main heroes.
Emmy-winning actor Kyle Chandler has already been cast to play Hal Jordan while the casting process is still ongoing for the role of John Stewart, the other main lead of the series.
Stephan James is Reportedly the Frontrunner for John Stewart in Lanterns
According to a recent scoop from insider Jeff Snider, Stephan James has emerged as the frontrunner for the role of John Stewart in Lanterns.
Weeks ago, it was reported that James and Rebel Ridge star Aaron Pierre were the two actors that DC Studios are highly considering for the coveted DCU role. They underwent a screen test recently.
Now, James is said to be favored by James Gunn and Lanterns executive producers Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King. No formal offer has been made yet.
So far, DC Studios has not commented on the claims made in the report so take this with a grain of salt.
While Pierre might be the top favorite for the role if you look at the fans' tweets online, James would also be a wonderful choice as he has proven in his past roles that he is a talented actor.
He also has the gravitas to lead a TV series, which he already has a lot of experience with at this point as he has been a regular cast member in several TV shows and even received an Emmy nomination for one of them.
For now, let's wait for an official announcement regarding the casting which should happen very soon as we are seeing signs that they are close to making their final decision.
