Lady Gaga Reveals Harley Quinn is Named as 'Lee' in Joker 2
In a recent interview, Gaga opened up about her involvement in Joker: Folie à Deux and revealed a key name change for her character.
First, she praised the cast and crew in the film and the creative leeway that she got during filming.
"You know, it was a really beautiful experience. I had the most amazing creative and time and I always feel so lucky when I get creative everyday all day long. This movie has music in it, incredible actors in it, a wonderful director Todd Phillips. I just had a brilliant time," the Grammy winner said.
Gaga went on to confirm that her character will be named "Lee" in the upcoming film.
She added, "My version of Harley Quinn is Lee, and in a lot of ways, I think this will be a very different Lee for people and I'm excited for people to see the story we wanted to tell."
Considering that the film already has a very different take on the characters, it's not surprising to hear that Harley Quinn will have a name change and we might hear more about it in the coming months leading up to its release this fall.
There is a possibility that "Lee" is simply just a nickname since the full name is Harleen Quinzel, and it is likely that by the end, the character will embrace the name of "Harley Quinn" as her true persona.
It is interesting to see which other changes we might learn about the film and whether fans will embrace it or not.
Joker: Folie à Deux is set to arrive in theaters this October 4.
