KonoSuba is back with season 3 to the delight of many fans around the world. With the show finally returning, now is the perfect time to look back at the KonoSuba anime’s funniest moments.

As one of the most hilarious isekai anime ever, KonoSuba has lots of memorable scenes that have made viewers laugh out loud.

It was tough to decide, but here are the seven stand-out scenes that we found to be the funniest. Take note that these moments are from the first two seasons of the anime and the movie.

  1. Aqua and the Giant Toads

While there may be some debate about the funniest character in KonoSuba, there’s no doubt Aqua is the dumbest, and the most useless to boot – a killer combination for comedy.

Aqua’s lack of brain cells is apparent whenever she faces her nemeses, the Giant Toads.

Early in season 1 when Aqua and Kazuma took on a quest, Aqua was shown to struggle against Giant Toads.

Since then, Aqua has been swallowed by Giant Toads time and time again.

Aside from Aqua’s wailing for help being funny on their own, what makes it even more hilarious is the fact that Aqua is a goddess, though her abilities and lack of tactical prowess mean she’s helpless against them.

  2. Kazuma's Party vs Verdia

In any isekai anime, a general of the Devil King should be a fearsome foe. That’s not the case with KonoSuba as Kazuma’s party made quick work of Verdia the Dullahan.

Verdia attacking the town was already funny as it was caused by Megumin practicing her explosion magic. The events of the battle are even more hilarious, as Kazuma steals Verdia’s head and plays with it.

While the battle showed just how powerful Kazuma’s party can be, it also proved just how funny the series can be.

After all, the successful fight wasn’t capped off by them becoming rich. Instead, their reward was utilized to pay for the damage they caused.

  3. Kazuma's Failed Succubus Escapade

Despite Aqua being quite beautiful, Kazuma for now has no romantic feelings for her. Thus, he jumped at the chance to hire a succubus to give him a dream he won’t forget.

Things didn’t go as planned though as Aqua managed to trap the succubus that was supposed to give him a good dream.

Kazuma then realizes that his moment with Darkness in the bath was not a dream. Realizing this, Kazuma lets himself get beat up so that the Succubus can escape.

This is just one of the many moments in the series where Kazuma’s dirty plans backfire, and they’re always hilarious to see unfold.

  4. Yunyun's Heartbreaking Yet Hilarious Flashback

Yunyun is Megumin’s self-proclaimed rival, and while the two share a bond as shown in the Explosion spinoff, Yunyun has no other friends.

This is proven in a flashback which is shown early into season 2. When Megumin and Yunyun were fighting, a flashback was shown which revealed just how sad Yunyun’s past was.

It’s a rather sad scene, but it’s presented in such a hilarious fashion. One memorable moment there is the flower that stands up and avoids Yunyun, showing just how much she repels potential friends.

Thankfully, Yunyun (kinda) has Megumin on her side, with Kazuma also sometimes being there for her like in the movie.

  5. Kazuma and Megumin's Night Together

Upon finding out that Kazuma has money, Megumin’s mother locks the two in a room to hopefully get them together.

Kazuma being the pervert that he is, believes that this is the perfect time for them to get together. This leads to one of the film’s funniest moments when Kazuma is circling Megumin, thinking of how to best proceed.

While the scene does imply that the feelings may be mutual, Kazuma just can’t help but reveal his perverted nature, leading to Megumin leaving him in the room.

Capping it off is a funny breakfast scene where Aqua and the rest of the girls call him funny nicknames like “Kazu-trash.”

  6. Enter Dustiness Ford Lalatina

Sure, Kazuma has a perverted side, but Darkness may have him beat due to her masochistic streak. So, it came as a surprise to everyone that Darkness is actually a noblewoman named Dustiness Ford Lalatina.

In season 2 episode 4, Darkness asks for the party’s help to get out of an arranged marriage. Kazuma agrees, though his real goal is to get Darkness married so that he gets a reward.

What follows are hilarious sequences, including Darkness showing off just how shameless she can be. Soon, Darkness even faced Kazuma who then showed just how brazen he can be as well.

  7. Aqua's Multiple Breakdowns

It’s cheating as this isn’t just one moment, but there’s no doubt that Aqua’s multiple breakdowns in KonoSuba are always hilarious, enough that they’re one of the funniest parts of the show.

A lot of this is down to just how funny she looks and sounds, a testament to both the animators and her voice actress.

What’s more, it’s just hilarious to see her break down and cry given how haughty she can be.

Plus, Aqua’s pouting and crying faces have become popular online, enough that Aqua’s face is commonly edited as a meme even in other fanbases.
