Whenever My Hero Academia’s creator shares a new illustration, chances are that it’ll get a ton of attention. Such was the case recently as Kohei Horikoshi once again broke X (formerly Twitter) with his adorable art of Invisible Girl aka Toru Hagakure.

The new illustration of Hagakure was shared just yesterday, and it has since received millions of views on X. These reactions go to show that many My Hero Academia fans love Invisible Girl’s visible look.

This hasn’t always been the case though, as Hagakure’s face reveals have become points of controversy over the past year.

Toru Hagakure has long been a mystery for My Hero Academia fans. After all, she has never been seen visibly since her introduction early into the manga and anime.

That all changed last year as Kohei Horikoshi released a special visual for a My Hero Academia chapter that showed Hagakure’s face and body. Given that her hero costume is practically nothing, the visual is not safe for work.

Many fans liked how she looked, saying that Hagakure looked cute. However, the image was also controversial as it showed her without any clothes on – a problem for many given that she’s only 16 years old.

Following this controversy, Horikoshi addressed the concerns. Specifically, he said that he didn’t intend to publish the image, but it was shared due to time constraints.

The controversy didn’t end there as the latest chapter showed Hagakure in a rather NSFW fashion. Once again, many fans expressed their concern about this choice.

Thankfully, Horikoshi’s new art did not prove controversial. This time, his Hagakure illustration shows Invisible Girl in her school uniform, though her face is clearly shown.

Horikoshi’s art posts usually get hundreds of thousands of likes on X. This wasn’t an exception as it got over 400k likes in just over a day, going to show how beloved Horikoshi and his works are.

Aside from praising the art style, many fans also gave props to Horikoshi for finally drawing Hagakure in a safe-for-work style that’s much more appropriate for someone her age.

My Hero Academia will continue with Chapter 401 on September 24. Meanwhile, the anime’s seventh season and fourth film are currently in the works, but there are no release dates yet for them.
