Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige opened up about revealing Dafne Keen's return as X-23 in the final trailer of Deadpool and Wolverine.

Last week, it was confirmed that the Logan star will be reprising her role in the highly-anticipated MCU film thanks to the final trailer which gave us our first look at her reunion with Hugh Jackman.

While fans were delighted to see the actress return in the new film, some were also disappointed that it was spoiled days before the release as they were hoping that it would be a major surprise once they saw the movie.

During the premiere event of Deadpool and Wolverine, Feige was asked why the final trailer revealed Keen's return as X-23 in the movie.

He explained that Keen wanted to attend the premiere, but she was initially not allowed as they were keeping her involvement a secret.

"Dafne really wanted to go to the premiere and we said, ‘Well, she really can’t come to the premiere because it would be a spoiler.’ We hadn’t shown it yet," the Marvel Studios president said.

Fortunately for Keen, Disney wanted to include a shot of X-23 in the final trailer to tease "an emotional core of the movie" and the marketing team knows "exactly when to push a little forward and pull a little back."

Marvel agreed to reveal Keen's return as X-23 and, as a result, she was allowed to attend the premiere event.

Keen's appearance in the film has been rumored for months with the actress even denying her involvement during the press tour for The Acolyte.

While her return would have been a great surprise, the movie is also hiding more special appearances than what the trailers have hinted and fans should still not worry about getting spoiled.

Deadpool and Wolverine is set to arrive in theaters this Friday, July 26.
