Keanu Reeves Refused to Play on Every Marvel Project Discussed With Him

It was previously reported that Keanu Reeves was offered to play the role of the Marvel character Kraven the Hunter. The film is currently under development in Sony Pictures. Disney and Marvel Studios are not involved in the Kraven the Hunter project as Sony owns the rights for the character.

According to entertainment scooper Skyler Shuler of TheDisinsider, the rumor that Sony Pictures wanted Reeves to play the character was true. The report claims that the actor was approached to play the role of Kraven the Hunter several months ago but he refused the offer.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige previously stated that they have talked to Reeves for almost every film they make in the MCU and as of now, Reeves hasn't really taken any Marvel role yet. Feige added that he doesn't know or if Reeves would even join the MCU. However, Feige seems determined to have Reeves on board as he said they wanted to figure out the right way to do it, referring to having the actor on board with the MCU.

Fans have been clamoring to see Reeves play Kraven. Unfortunately, if this latest scoop turns out to be true, we won't be seeing him anytime soon. Based on the released casting description for Kraven, it seems like it would fit Reeves.

The previously released casting description for Kraven reveals that the character has a Russian origin, with superhuman strength, speed, stamina, agility, and reflexes. Kraven is also described as a maniacal big-game hunter, seeking to defeat Spider-Man and prove that he is the greatest hunter in the world.
