It has only been a few days since the unfortunate passing of Lance Reddick and people continue to mourn the beloved actor. So it's no surprise that the cast and crew of John Wick: Chapter 4 couldn't stop talking about Reddick at the film's premiere. Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne, among others, paid tribute to their late co-star at the red carpet event.
Keanu Reeves had previously issued a joint statement with director Chad Stahelski regarding Lance Reddick's passing. However, he once again spoke about his late castmate at the John Wick: Chapter 4 red carpet premiere in Hollywood.
"Lance was a beautiful person, special artist, a man of grace and dignity, and had such a passion for his craft," Reeves told Deadline. "To have the chance to work with him over 10 years and four films is something that's very special to me and it f*cking sucks he's not here."
Laurence Fishburne also spoke about Lance Reddick and the Matrix star couldn't help but get emotional while talking about the Resident Evil actor.
"We love Lance," Fishburne told The Hollywood Reporter. "We miss Lance. He's the heart of these movies in many movies. We lost our brother, but we made a beautiful movie and it's the best of all of them. I think people are going to love it and, you know, that's what it's about. At the end of the day, he wouldn't want us to not do this."
On March 17, it was revealed that Lance Reddick has passed away earlier that day. Although the cause of death was previously unannounced, it has since been reported that he had passed from natural causes.
Lance Reddick is best known for his work in The Wire, Godzilla vs. Kong, and the Netflix series Resident Evil. He is expected to appear posthumously in the John Wick spin-off Ballerina and the series focused on the Continental, as well as the Disney+ series Percy Jackson and The Olympians where he will play Zeus.
