Katy Perry has reacted to the online criticisms that were made against the Blue Origin NS-31 space flight.

Last month, the singer joined Blue Origin's first all-female crew for an 11-minute trip to space. However, the flight has received a lot of criticism from celebrities online who questioned the intention, especially with Jeff Bezos funding the mission.

In her comment to a post from Katy Perry Brasil fan page on Instagram, Perry responded to the online backlash against her participation in the Blue Origin flight.

While she didn't directly mention the space flight, she slammed the online hate that she has received in the past few weeks since the Blue Origin flight took place.

"I’m so grateful for you guys. We’re in this beautiful and wild journey together. I can continue to remain true to myself, heart open and honest especially because of our bond," Perry wrote.

"I love you guys and have grown up together with you and am so excited to see you all over the world this year! Please know I am ok, I have done a lot work around knowing who I am, what is real and what is important to me."

The singer continued, "My therapist said something years ago that has been a game changer, ‘no one can make you believe something about yourself that you don’t already believe about yourself’ and if I ever do have any feelings about it then it’s an opportunity to investigate the feeling underneath it."

Despite the online hate she's been receiving, Perry is still eager to keep on going as she sees her fans' reactions while on tour.

"When the ‘online’ world tries to make me a human Piñata, I take it with grace and send them love, cause I know so many people are hurting in so many ways and the internet is very much so a dumping ground for unhinged and unhealed. What’s real is seeing your faces every night, singing in unison, reading your notes, feeling your warmth," she added.

"I’m on a human journey playing the game of life with an audience of many and sometimes I fall but… I get back up and go on and continue to play the game and somehow through my battered and bruised adventure I keep looking to the light and in that light a new level UNLOCKS."

Blue Origin NS-31 Flight Receives Backlash from Celebrities

Many celebrities online have criticized the Blue Origin NS-31 flight, questioning the mission's intention and the use of feminism in its promotional.

Model Emily Ratajkowski slammed the flight on her TikTok post and called out its hypocrisy due to the Jeff Bezos connection.

"That space mission this morning, that’s end-time shit. Like, this is beyond parody. Saying that you care about Mother Earth, and it’s about Mother Earth, and going up in a spaceship that is built and paid for by a company that’s single-handedly destroying the planet?" she said.

"Look at the state of the world, and think about how many resources went into putting these women into space, and for what? For what, what was the marketing there? And then to try to make it like... I’m disgusted. Literally, I’m disgusted."

Celebrities such as Olivia Munn, Amy Schumer, and Olivia Wilde have also either criticized or poked fun at the Blue Origin flight on social media.

Fast food giant Wendy's also threw shade at Perry's involvement in the Blue Origin flight in their X account.
