Amid Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom's bitter breakup, the pop star filed a restraining order to not only protect herself but also her ex-fiancé. According to reports, a homeless man has been trespassing on her property in California.

Why Did Katy Perry File a Restraining Order?

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the Last Friday Night singer filed a temporary restraining order against a 43-year-old homeless man named Ross Elliott Hedrick, whom Katy claims to be a "transient" and has trespassed on her property in Santa Barbara, California, twice.

The restraining order was filed on June 18, noting that Orlando Bloom is also part of the protection program despite the couple's split.

The pop star detailed that Hedrick used to visit her Santa Barbara estate multiple times in May, saying that he was arrested after the first attempt, only to return a week later.

Katy's security services company stated that Hedrick appeared to be carrying an aerosol can and a butane lighter during the initial incident. On his second visit, the homeless man tossed a blanket over the security gate.

The company believes these acts are potential threats to the safety of Katy and Orlando, as there is a high likelihood that the stranger would keep trying to invade their privacy.

The court file orders Hedrick to stay "at least 100 yards away" from Katy, Orlando, her job, her homes, and her car.

Did Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Really Break Up?

After dating for nine years, and having their four-year-old daughter Daisy, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom called off their engagement.

Long brewing since previous reports claimed Katy and her tour set them off to a rocky end, the two revealed their breakup earlier last week.

As reported by Us Weekly, an exclusive source said that while "Katy is of course upset", the Fireworks hitmaker is "relieved" that the breakup is over, seeing as they won't have to "go through another divorce", which the star called "the worst time of her life."

It doesn't help that Bloom recently reposted a quote from Gautama Buddha with a cryptic message amid these concerning times: "Each day is a new beginning. What we do today is what matters most."

The post continues with a "Daily Encouragement" quote from Daisaku Ikeda: "The important thing is to take that first step. Bravely overcoming one small fear gives you the courage to take on the next."
