The Star Wars franchise has a great collection of characters still waiting to make their respective appearances in film and television. Thankfully, Lucasfilm's gamble to expand its content through Disney+ paid off and it sure opened the door for beloved characters to finally be seen in live-action projects.
One character fans have been dying to see make his live-action crossover is Cal Kestis. Despite the character only getting introduced to the fold via the hit 2019 video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the Force-sensitive human who later became a Jedi Knight has already generated a cult-like following.
One would think that Lucasfilm would be too foolish not to capitalize on Cal's growing popularity but it turns out, the production company has no plans of giving the character a live-action treatment.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Kathleen Kennedy said that while she's well aware of the fans' clamor to see Kestis in a future live-action project, that's not exactly on their list of priorities.
Kennedy said: "I've seen a lot of chatter online about that. [Laughs] It could be really interesting. It's not something that's front and center right at the moment, but what's interesting in the company that we do is that everybody across all these different lines of business, we all talk to one another."
"That often doesn't happen in situations like this, but because so many of the people at Lucasfilm, are used to working together, we're very transparent about what the storytelling is that's going on — whether it's in the streaming space or the movie space, or books, animation games, whatever it is. Eventually, it'll be some kind of immersive entertainment."
"There are many things we talk about just in terms of how we use technology with ILM inside the company," Kennedy continued. "So this constant cross-pollination of ideas to determine just exactly what stories move into the movie space, what stories move into the TV space — you never know, because the creative process is very similar in all of those different spaces."
"And so you don't have a crystal ball. You see what works, and then if it does, you draw from that."

Cal was previously rumored to appear in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series but obviously, that wasn't the case.
Meanwhile, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is finally hitting stores on April 28th.
