Kate Middleton is one of the most popular members of the royal family. She has been married to Prince William for 11 years, and they have been blessed with three adorable children.
When the Duke of Cambridge ascends the throne, Middleton will be styled as queen consort. And even though this won’t happen anytime soon, royal fans couldn’t help but be excited for her.
Kate Middleton Preparing For Her Role As Queen Consort
A source told Us Weekly that Kate Middleton has been preparing for her role as queen consort for years. Queen Elizabeth also helped trained the Duchess of Cambridge, and she has also passed on some of her royal engagements and titles to Middleton.
There are whispers that the Duchess of Cambridge would soon take over as the head of the Grenadier Guards, a role which was previously given to Prince Andrew. But when the latter was stripped of his royal titles, the role was returned to the queen.
Royal fans know that Her Majesty could no longer take on more duties because of her age. At 96, she has not been attending royal engagements just like she used to. So, Middleton taking over the important role would be a wonderful help for the queen.
Kate Middleton Plans To Shake Up With Monarchy By Changing Outdated Royal Rules
But this isn’t all. The magazine’s source said that Middleton plans to shake up The Firm when she becomes queen consort. She reportedly plans to change some of the outdated royal rules that are still being followed by the members of the British clan today.
“Kate may change some of the outdated royal rules when she becomes Queen [consort]. She’s also been very present on social media and has gotten comfortable doing TV interviews and virtual chats. She’s keen to continue that in the future as well,” the source said (via Express).
Prince William, Kate Middleton To Introduce The Cambridge Way To The Firm
According to Express, Prince William and Middleton will also introduce the “Cambridge Way” once the former is named king of Britain. The Cambridge Way will reportedly include the ditching of the queen’s decades-long mantra “never complain, never explain.”
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have already started ditching the queen’s mantra. Even though they rarely appear in interviews or respond to controversies, Prince William was forced to release a statement following his trip to the Caribbean.
Prince William, Kate Middleton Respond To Backlash Post-The Caribbean Tour
At the time, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were accused of being out of touch. After all, they were photographed greeting children from behind a metal wall, among many other things.
“Foreign tours are an opportunity to reflect. You learn so much. What is on the minds of Prime Ministers? The hopes and ambitions of school children. The day-to-day challenges faced by families and communities. I know that this tour has brought into even sharper focus questions about the past and the future. In Belize, Jamaica, and The Bahamas, that future is for the people to decide upon… Catherine and I are committed to service. For us, that's not telling people what to do. It is about serving and supporting them in whatever way they think best, by using the platform we are lucky to have,” Prince William said in his statement (via Town & Country).
