Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have always been compared to each other – from their hairstyles to their clothes and so much more. And just recently, the sisters-in-law were once again compared to each other, but this time around it was their teeth that were given attention.
Kate Middleton’s Teeth Are Not As Perfect As Meghan Markle’s
According to Dr. Rhona Eskander, a dentist from the Chelsea Dental Clinic, Kate Middleton's teeth aren’t perfect unlike Markle’s. But even if this is the case, the Duchess of Cambridge has a captivating smile because the misalignment of her teeth suits her.
“Kate Middleton has one of the most iconic smiles of all time and it's no secret she had orthodontic treatment. She reportedly went to see the world-renowned French dentist Dr. Didier Fillion, who created the 'imperfectly perfect smile,’” she told Hello! magazine.

Kate Middleton Wore Braces, Underwent Teeth Whitening
The dentist also said that Middleton had braces behind her teeth before, and this helped improve the appearance of her teeth.
“This creates tiny little micro rotations in the smile, which means the teeth aren't perfectly aligned. Kate's lateral incisors, which are next to her central incisors, are slightly rotated towards the middle. This creates a more natural smile,” she said.
Other than her braces, Middleton must have also gotten teeth whitening. But unlike Hollywood celebrities, she doesn’t have veneers.
Kate Middleton’s Teeth Reflect British Sensibility
Two months ago, Dr. Aneka Khaira, a general and cosmetic dentist, analyzed Middleton’s teeth. She told Express that the Duchess of Cambridge has a royal smile. And the imperfection of her teeth reflects a more British sensibility as opposed to the classic Hollywood smile.
“Kate undoubtedly has one of the most beautiful and eye-catching smiles. The reason why? It's perfectly ‘imperfect.’ Kate’s teeth carry natural minor imperfections that further enhance the aesthetic. While it’s not the perfect ‘Hollywood smile’ its slight imperfections represent its identity with the royal smile, reflecting a more British nature,” she said.
Growing up, Middleton also wore metal braces just like most children. And this helped with the alignment of her teeth. But over time, some of her teeth must have moved that’s why they still look imperfect.
“Kate has reportedly had orthodontic treatment as a teenager. She then had further realignment before her wedding in 2011. It appears Kate had discrete braces quite possibly behind the teeth (lingual braces) by a French dentist. When we look back at Kate’s smile evolution there were more irregularities with the lateral incisors, the teeth next to the central teeth, which were slightly tipped forward. There was also a narrower arch, making the teeth overall appear smaller. Post-orthodontics the arch is broader resulting in a wider smile and the teeth appearing larger due to the re-alignment. Kate also appears to have finished with some whitening treatment,” she said.
However, it is important to note that the two dentists just shared their observations after analyzing Middleton’s teeth. None of them had the opportunity to treat the Duchess of Cambridge.
