Kate Middleton and Prince William lived together when they were college students. However, it reportedly nearly didn't happen for an "unfortunate experience."
Prince William And Kate Middleton Almost Didn't Live Together In College?
The Prince and Princess of Wales were friends before they became lovers. They lived together when they were students with some other friends.
However, the royal couple encountered an unusual speedbump when the landlord refused to allow young men on the premises due to their "unfortunate experience" with the previous male tenants, Express reported.
Middleton and Prince William viewed several properties on Hope Street, where they planned to live with friends Fergus Boyd and Olivia Bleasdale. However, the landlord was having second thoughts about the gentlemen.
"We'd had an unfortunate experience with some boys in the flat once before and we were determined not to have young men there again," Landlord Charlotte Smith, explained to ivillage.co.uk. "Broken furniture, broken windows – there was a lot of damage, so that put us off really."
"I said to this young lady we'd really rather not have more boys and she said. What if I were to tell you that it was Prince William?"
Smith and her husband discussed it and decided to allow the future king and Fergus to move in with Middleton and Bleasdale.
Smith remembered the heir to the throne as someone who was "very friendly, very charming... thoroughly nice man."
