Today, Wizards of the Coast has revealed more Magic: The Gathering Dwarf creature cards from the upcoming Norse mythology-inspired set, Kaldheim, and some of them feature the new mechanics Boast and Foretell.
Each of the 10 realms of Kaldheim is tied to a creature type tied to a dual-color pair, and the dwarfs of the Viking-inspired plane are from the red and white-aligned realm of Axgard.
WotC recently shared a description of the dwarfs of Axengard:
Dwarves are renowned through all the realms for two things: perfect weapons and exquisite storytelling. They are passionately creative, with an insatiable longing to constantly improve their craft. They strive to create the sharpest swords, the most beautiful jewelry, the strongest chainsāand then immortalize their deeds in song and story. They seek to build things that last, to make their mark on the world so future generations remember them.
Dwarven society takes the form of sprawling, loose-knit clans that congregate in certain sections of the underground city. Different clans specialize in different crafts, and though they coexist amicably enough, they also have a strong competitive streak that sometimes sets them at odds.
Here are the red and white dwarft creature cards of Kaldheim revealed recently:
Goldmaw Champion
Axgard Braggart
Fearless Liberator
Dwarven Reinforcements
"Breakneck Berserker"
Dwarf Berserker
Haste
Vault Robber
Here are the two rare Dwarf cards of Kaldheim previously revealed:
Magda, Brazen Outlaw
Runeforge Champion
Several new Angel and Spirit cards from Kaldheim have also been revealed today.
Kaldheim is set to release on February 5, 2021 for tabletop, and Jan. 28 on Magic Arena and Magic Online. The set will be followed by Strixhaven: School of Mages, which is set to release sometime in Spring 2021.
