Josh Brolin recently opened up about turning down to play Hal Jordan in the DCU series Lanterns.

A few weeks ago, it was reported that the Avengers: Endgame star was in talks to potentially play the Green Lantern Corps member in the DCU series. However, he ended up passing on the opportunity.

Soon after, Kyle Chandler was officially cast to play Hal Jordan. DC Studios is still looking for an actor who will play John Stewart and it was reported recently that there are two frontrunners for the coveted role.

In a recent interview, Brolin confirmed that he was previously in talks to potentially star as Hal Jordan in Lanterns.

While he didn't explain why he turned down the offer, he showed his support for Chandler's casting and teased that he remains open to joining the DCU in the future.

"You know what? Green Lantern didn't work out, but that's okay. It's working out. Who is it going to be, Kyle Chandler? I love him as an actor, I think he's wonderful, actually. And, you know, we'll see what's down the line, man," the actor said.

When Brolin's reported negotiations to potentially join the DCU series surfaced online, fans were mixed about the possibility as some of them believed that he was a great choice for Hal Jordan. At the same time, some felt like it would have been a miscast.

In the end, the actor declined the offer, but it doesn't stop him from potentially joining the DCU for another role in the future if they reach out to him with a project and role that would really interest him.

As we've seen throughout his filmography, Brolin certainly has the capability of playing comic book roles on both sides of the spectrum whether it's Cable, Thanos, or Jonah Hex.

Now, fans are looking forward to finding out which actor DC Studios will cast to play John Stewart and, hopefully, we will finally hear their decision very soon.
