Joe Russo Would Want To Direct A Dark Knight Movie For DC

It looks like Avengers: Endgame co-director Joe Russo wants to try his hand at the DC Extended Universe. Now that he and his brother, Anthony Russo, have completed their overwhelming back-to-back production of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, it looks like Joe wants to try out directing a Batman movie for DC.

ComicBook.com just recently had a question-and-question session with Russo, and during their discussion, the director revealed which DC superhero he'd want to direct a film for if he'd ever get the chance to helm a project for DC. Of course, the answer was Batman. According to the filmmaker, DC's Dark Knight had always been one of his favorites. Russo even grew up collecting all sorts of Batman toys and merchandise back when he was a child.

Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean that Russo is going to switch sides and sign a contract with Warner Brothers. DC might jump at the chance to work with the directorial team that brought in billions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but we're pretty certain that Marvel won't let go of the two that easily. Besides, the Russo Brothers also want to take a shot at directing a Secret Wars event for the MCU. The two have been very loyal to Marvel and to Disney, working on MCU films like Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and of course, Endgame.

But who knows. Russo might get the chance to direct films both for Marvel and for DC like Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn. Let's wait and see.

Avengers: Endgame is currently screening in cinemas.
