Jamie Lee Curtis recently issued an apology for her viral comment that mocked the current state of Marvel.

During an interview at last week's San Diego Comic-Con, the Oscar winner was asked to name the phase that the MCU is in at the moment. She jokingly responded with "bad."

Since then, her comment has gone viral online as some fans agree with her honest assessment about the current state of the MCU while there are also fans who found her response to be tasteless.

Jamie Lee Curtis Issues Apology for Poking Fun at the MCU

In her recent post on X, Curtis issued an apology for her viral comment that poked fun at Marvel and shared that she has reached out to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige regarding the issue.

She promised that she would no longer be engaging in that type of "toiler paper promotion" that is "designed for clicks."

"My comments about Marvel were stupid and I will do better. I've reached out to Kevin Feige and will no longer play in that mud slinging sandbox of competition we call the internet nor will I engage in the toilet paper promotion or game play that is designed for clicks not content or conversation," the Oscar winner wrote.

Deadpool & Wolverine star Ryan Reynolds reacted to Curtis' apology by channeling his work as Deadpool, who notoriously mocked the MCU in the recent film.

"Wait, is everyone expected to apologize for slamming Marvel post-Endgame?" he wrote.

While Curtis was just simply expressing her opinion, her comment has spawned a polarizing conversation online and perhaps she decided to apologize to avoid making the issue bigger than it already was.

In a past interview, Curtis opened up about why she will unlikely join the MCU in the future.

"I'm afraid if I do a Marvel movie, they're going to stick dots all over me and make me act by myself in a warehouse somewhere. I would find it hard to imagine that Marvel's going to figure out something to do with a 64-year-old woman," she said.

Deadpool & Wolverine is showing in theaters everywhere.
