Fans of Spy x Family have reasons to be excited for the year 2025 as it will mark the premiere of the anime's long-awaited season 3 in the fall season after years of hiatus.
However, considering that the manga took a temporary hiatus around the end of 2024, some fans are also wondering whether it will happen again in the new year or if there will consistently be new content.
Spy x Family Author Tatsuya Endo's New Year Message to Fans
In his recent post on X, Spy x Family author Tatsuya Endo shared his New Year message to fans as he thanked them for their continuous support of the manga.
"This year has been another difficult one, and although it hasn’t been safe, I’ve managed to get through the series somehow. Thank you so much to everyone who gave me such warm support," the author wrote.
"It was really fun meeting all the fans in person at the autograph session for our 5th anniversary, and I still read all the comments and thoughts about my work. It made me realize once again that I am alive thanks to all of you for your support."
Despite the anime's hiatus, the manga continues to be a massive hit and build a bigger loyal fanbase which shows how popular Spy x Family continues to become since its inception.
It's also a great set-up for 2025 as it will be a major year for the Spy x Family franchise and celebrating its sixth year overall.
Will We See Another Spy x Family Hiatus in 2025?
Endo also addressed whether there will be another hiatus for Spy x Family in the year 2025.
While he didn't reveal any plans to take another hiatus in the release of a new chapter/volume, he expressed his hope that the year 2025 will be hiatus-free.
"I would feel very frustrated if that connection were to be severed due to a hiatus, but I would like to continue doing my best within my limits while cherishing the work," the author wrote.
Aside from his statement, Endo also posted a photo of Anya saying goodbye to 2024 to signify the transition to a new year.
Since we're still on the very first day of the new year, it's hard to tell right now whether the manga will be hiatus-free or not, but fans are hoping that it will have a consistent release and it's interesting to see how it all plays out in the future.
