"But if you’re asking me, ‘What are the next three seasons going to be?’ Well, they’re therapists, and just because you’ve gotten over the biggest stick in the spokes of your life doesn’t mean there’s no more pathos," he said.
"We intentionally put these people in a world that brings all of that to their doorstep, so there’s always more story to tell. We definitely put some Easter eggs into the third season that will allow people to see what’s coming."
What to Expect in Shrinking Season 3
In an interview, Lawrence shared that the third season of Shrinking explores the theme of "moving forward."
"But I think I’ve been public about saying the first year is about grief, the second year was about forgiveness, and the third year’s about moving forward," he said.
"I don’t think you can do this show about moving forward without knowing how that guy’s life moves forward, at least for an episode or two. So now I just got to leverage Brett into doing what I want him to do. He’s a very busy man. It’s very frustrating."
The upcoming season also features the return of previous guest stars, including co-creator Brett Goldstein, Damon Wayans Jr., Wendie Malick, and Cobie Smulders, who will reprise their roles. Jeff Daniels, Candice Bergen, and Michael J. Fox are joining as new guest stars.
The third season consists of 11 episodes. It will have a weekly release every Wednesday until the season finale on April 8.
