One of the greatest mysteries the Agatha show must answer is who Joe Locke's character is in the spinoff: is he really just called 'teen' in Agatha All Along? Well, here's what we can decipher from the trailers and Locke's own words.
What is Joe Locke's Mystery Role in Agatha All Along?
In an Agatha All Along teaser, Joe Locke's unnamed character couldn't reveal his name, in the sense that it would spoil what lies for MCU fans in the spinoff.
However, the Heartstopper star recently confirmed that his character is really named 'Teen' who is "woven into the show", despite having to keep his identity a secret.
Locke then clarified by saying 'Teen' is the name of his character, and not in a teaser way, "Teen is not, like a placeholder name or codename; that's actually what my character is named in the show."
Although he admitted he has read a couple of fan theories, the most he could say was, "I shouldn't be the one to comment on them until it's the right time."
Prior to the spinoff's teaser releases, MCU fans had already been convinced that 'Teen' has a close connection to Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch.
That connection is that he may be secretly playing Wiccan aka Billy Kaplan, a reincarnated version of Wanda's twin sons at present time. Here are a couple of other clues that the WandaVision spinoff may be pointing at.
'Teen' May Be the Agatha Spinoff's Biggest Reveal Yet
Apart from some of the subtle hints behind 'Teen's' identity of being Agatha's 'helper' in the spinoff, there's also the part where the character is confirmed to be gay, which is one of the qualities Wiccan canonically has.
"The show never shies away from his queerness," Locke shared in another interview, "It's just one layer of him as a person."
'Teen', as Locke previously said, is described to be a "fanboy follower of Agatha" who "hasn't got any power in the relationship", only for their dynamic to change "as the series goes on", which may be related to gaining his actual powers.
There's also the bit where 'Teen' doesn't get to reveal his name in the teaser. Instead, his mouth is taped over with what seems to be the letter 'M', leading fans to believe this may stand for 'Maximoff.'
And don't forget that another trailer showed the 'W' that was left on Teen's 'Welcome Coven' banner when Agatha took it off the fireplace. The 'W' here appears to be implying 'Wanda', similar to the 'M' previously. 'WM.'
For now, we would have to wait until the spinoff premieres on Disney+ this September until we can clear the air on his identity.
