Fans have been wondering whether the upcoming fifth season of Hacks will be its last, and now, we have a new update from star Hannah Einbinder.
The hit HBO Max series was renewed for a fifth season last May ahead of the airing of the fourth season finale. While the news made a lot of fans excited, there were also questions on whether it will be its final one or if it will be extended beyond the supposed five-year plan.
Is Hacks Ending with the Upcoming Season 5?

Speaking with Variety during the red carpet at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony, Einbinder claimed that the upcoming fifth season will be its last one, and they are set to begin filming very soon.
"[Production begins] next week, and knowing it’s the last season is really bittersweet. But I think it’s right, you know?" she said.
"It’s nice to do something as many times as it should be done. Not overstay your welcome. Rip it and do it and laugh and cry."
However, when she spoke to a reporter backstage after winning the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series category, Einbinder clarified her earlier comments and stated that the plans for ending the series remain up in the air.
"[Showrunners] Paul [W. Downs], Jen [Statsky], and Lucia [Aniello] are the true arbiters of that being true, ultimately. But I think the original plan was that they saw a five-season arc in their initial pitch for the show," she said.
For now, fans have nothing to worry about since it's not yet confirmed that the upcoming fifth season will be its final one.
Did Hacks Take Home Any Trophies at the Emmy Awards?
Hacks failed to win the top category, Outstanding Comedy Series, since it was The Studio that prevailed.
However, the hit series still managed to take home two trophies during the ceremony: Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Einbinder and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Jean Smart (her fourth consecutive win).
Last week, Julianne Nicholson won Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance as Dance Mom in the Creative Arts ceremony.
