There is little doubt that The Witcher Season 2 will be bringing in several new interesting characters as Geralt of Rivia's story continues to expand. But will we be seeing some familiar faces in the Netflix series? A new report claims that Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer might be joining the fantasy show.
The report comes from Redanian Intelligence, which reveals that Dormer has mentioned in social media by the crew of The Witcher Season 2. In one particular post by someone from the casting department, the Hunger Games actress is mentioned by name. In addition to that, Dormer has been spotted riding a horse in Surrey close to where Henry Cavill is said to be filming scenes for the series as well.
Dormer's casting would be an interesting one considering that The Witcher has already confirmed that her fellow Game of Thrones star Kristofer Hivju will appear in the second season. But is there any truth to the rumors? Interestingly, Dormer's agency has denied the casting news so it looks like Margaery Tyrell will not make a surprise appearance on the show.
Although we are a little disappointed that Dormer isn't joining The Witcher Season 2, the actress still has a project lined up in the future. She is set to lead in the upcoming spin-off Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, which will air on Showtime on April 26.
The Witcher Season 2 is currently in production and is expected to premiere on Netflix by 2021.
