One of the biggest questions that fans have regarding the upcoming Supergirl film is whether David Corenswet's Superman will make an appearance.

Recently, DC Studios finally released the first trailer for the next DCU movie that will focus on Clark Kent's cousin, Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, following her cameo appearance at the end of Superman. Considering the in-universe connectivities, some are wondering whether Superman himself will show up at some point when they see the film next year.

Is David Corenswet Making an Appearance in Supergirl?

In a recent press conference (via GamesRadar+), Supergirl star Milly Alcock confirmed that David Corenswet will make an appearance in the film to reprise the role of Superman.

She shared that her scene with the Man of Steel was the toughest day to shoot due to the challenge of speaking in the Kryptonian language.

"Oh my god, it was… It was with Superman. And I wasn't in the suit, and I was speaking… A different language. A different language," she said.

"Yeah, that day was really hard, it was, like, 2 degrees. He jumped right in the deep end. Yeah, that was a hard day. The whole scene was in Kryptonian. The whole scene was, yeah... Yeah, Kryptonian."

It is unclear yet whether Corenswet will only show up for one scene in the film, but nevertheless, fans are happy that he is confirmed to appear in the film and have an interaction with Alcock.

Aside from Supergirl, Corenswet is also set to make his return as Clark Kent/Superman in Man of Tomorrow, which is slated for release in 2027 and serves as a follow-up on Superman.

What to Expect in Supergirl

The logline for Supergirl states: "When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice."

Aside from Alcock and Corenswet, the cast also includes Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa (who will play the role of Lobo). Craig Gillespie directed the film while Ana Nogueira wrote the screenplay.

The film is slated for release in theaters on June 26, 2026. It will also be available on IMAX and other premium formats.
