In a recent interview with Howard Stern (via Deadline), Gunn shared some key details about the plot for Man of Tomorrow for the first time.
As fans have predicted, the film will be a team-up between Superman and Lex Luthor.
"[The next movie] is a story about Lex Luthor and Superman having to work together to a certain degree against a much, much bigger threat," the director revealed.
"It’s more complicated than that. It’s as much a Lex movie as it is a Superman movie."
The report also confirmed that Man of Tomorrow is currently slated to start filming around April 2026, ahead of the planned summer 2027 theatrical release.
Gunn also teased the Supergirl movie, which is currently being edited: "Milly Alcock, who plays Supergirl, might be the best bit of casting I think I’ve ever done in my entire life."
What Are the Upcoming Projects in the DCU?
