Following the death of Hulk Hogan, fans have been wondering whether the late iconic wrestler's biopic starring Chris Hemsworth is still in the works.
Back in 2019, it was announced that a biopic centering on Hogan's life and career was in development with Hemsworth attached to star and Todd Phillips set to direct. However, since then, there have not been any updates on the development of the project. In lieu of Hogan's passing, there is interest from fans again as they wonder whether it will see the light of day.
Is the Hulk Hogan Biopic Starring Chris Hemsworth Still Happening?

Unfortunately for fans, the development of Hemsworth and Phillips' Hulk Hogan biopic has stalled, and it is likely that it won't be revisited anytime soon.
Back in 2023, Hemsworth stated in an interview that he was hoping that the project would still happen at some point, and there would still be conversations about its development.
"There's a good story there and I'd love to tell it," he said, and added that Phillips was "deep in the world of the Joker" at that time.
However, the status changed significantly last year. While promoting Joker: Folie à Deux, Phillips confirmed that he was no longer involved in the project.
"I love what we were trying to do, but that's not going to come together for me," he told Variety in an interview.
It is unknown whether the producers attached to the project have plans to revisit the project with a different actor (if Hemsworth is also no longer attached) and director, especially now that there is interest again following Hogan's passing.
What Did Hulk Hogan Think of the Biopic Project?
Hogan was involved in the project in some capacity since he was consulted when the script was being worked on. However, he expressed dissatisfaction with the dissolution.
"[One of the people involved] kind of missed a beat in the contract. There was a payment that wasn't placed at the right time," he explained in an interview.
Hogan also praised the script and was impressed by what screenwriter Scott Silver came up with in telling his life story.
He said, "[The script was] very dark. When I read it, I was like, 'Oh my gosh, if this thing comes out…'"
With Hogan's death, fans are now wondering if it will convince the producers to revive the project and work together with his family and estate.
